I have the latest deff but the problem Im having is mv dsl service has changed how they work so only my mothers comp has internet for now and I dont want to fall behind on updates…is there anyway to manually update?

and selecting the ‘avast 4’ link under ‘latest updates’ on the left hand side of the screen

Go to start menu, run avast, go to the menu button, click settings, click update (basic), check the Manual setting in Virus Database box (and Program box if you like), and click okay.
Note: Just to make sure before you press okay, click on Update (advance) and make sure none of the items have a check mark besides them. (Not sure if it’s really necessary but it wouldn’t hurt to check.
The user don’t need to change this settings in a temporay off-line computer.
Just download (in other computer of course) the vpsupd.exe file and runn in the off-line computer, without changing the settings (which are there for on-line computers)
