is this a fake or real email adress?

Hi.This is the second time I get an e-mail from renewal@email2.avast.com saying that avast wants me back.it does contain my full name and its in my native language.I had an avast subscription one year ago so that’s correct but I’m not sure if this is an real email adress or just an fake mail so thats why I’m asking.I’m tired of getting these mails and I want them to stop.theres a stop subscribe at the bottom of the mail but I won’t click on it before I’m certain.

Where does the link points to ?

How do I see where it points to?

You don’t have to click it to find where it goes, hover your mouse pointer over the link and it should show the underlying URL.

when I hover my mouse over the renew it just says:email2.avast.com/hp and a long number of letters and numbers, also in the mail it says:This is how you reactivate your subscription:
1:click on the reactivate avast above to complete the transaction
2:download and install the program
3:check your email inbox to see if you recived the licence then double click on the licence file to activate it.

Hi this looks like it could be an auto renewal type notification email.

If you don’t intend to renew your program, then it will need some more to ensure that you cancel your auto payment renewal.

See the Sales - Orders and Renewals FAQ - https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB24#artTitle.

when I check the ordering portal it says my subscription has expired and it’s not set to auto renew,it says renewal type:manual.

OK, it may well be just a marketing email to try and get you back to using avast.

Is it a safe way the unsubscribe from things like that? I realy don’t wan’t them.

As I said, you need look at the location that you have and appears to be on the avast domain, the string of characters is a unique identification which would be needed to unsubscribe.

I have to admit that I generally don’t get many marketing type emails, so I don’t often need to unsubscribe. These for me also come from reputable senders, be that the company or another list management service. In many cases I search out any receipt of marketing/service emails, as I said I don’t get many of those emails because I have opted out.

If I have any email that is suspect I wouldn’t unsubscribe but that would be unusual. I also use an email anti-spam program that I first check, it views emails for spam at server level and marks those it considers spam. I can also select those not considered spam, but unwanted, these are deleted from my email server, so they never get to my system.

Don’t know what email service you use but in gmail, I can report and mark any email as Spam.
Once I’ve done that any further email will wind up in the Spam folder and will eventually be deleted.
