Is this a false positive???

Hello,
I’m trying to find out if this message after doing a deep virus scan is a False Positive. I’ve never gotten it before. Here is the message “Sorry couldn’t move this file to virus chest … MacOS:MaxOfferDeal-BU[Adw]private/var/db/dyld/dyld_shared_cashe_x86_64h”. When I click on Resolve, it indicates that it can’t be removed, must be protected. My iMac updated avast to 14.8 (11af9a541a9) on the 15th of March. I had run a deep scan on 3-14-2021, with no issues. On 3-21-2021, my iMac deep scan showed this message. I’m running macOS 10.15.7 and using Avast Free. Also, I deep scanned my wife’s macbookpro with avast 14.8 (same info) running macOS 10.14.6 and did not get this message. Her macbookpro checked out just fine. So, is this a Catalina problem? Also, I tried to remove the suspected file, but Apple has it locked out. Can’t remove it. Any help on this would be Greatly Appreciated. Oh, I’ve update my virus definition to 21032210 and still got this message. Also, I did a Safe Reboot with my iMac, which resets some of the cashes, and then restarted normally, but still got the message.
Thanks for help in advance!
Dennis

G’day mate. Came here to find answers. Exactly what happened to me in every detail. awaiting answers

Exact same problem. Scanned yesterday. No issue. Scanned early evening today and received same message and inability to move to virus chest. Doing file search this file does not appear ( unless it is hidden).

I noticed that has been several days since the OG submitted his issue. Over at the Reddit.com virus discussion channel two others are experiencing the same exact problem. Has there been any acknowledgement that the Avast support staff has read this and is addressing the issue?

Hi, can you please send crc hash of mentioned file?
eg in terminal: shasum -a 512 /full/path/to/file
Thanks.

Hello All,

Here is an update with this issue. I ran a Deep Scan today 03-28-2021 using Virus Definition 21032804 and DID NOT get this message. Scan indicated No Issues were Found. I also checked the problem file in finder and the date for that file was 3-21-2021, which was the same date as my original post. Also, I have run a Malware program and it found nothing on my iMac. Therefore, I can only reason, that this message was a False Positive. I have done nothing since last Sunday, 3-21-2021, regarding this issue other that getting Virus Definition Updates, and a Malware scan. If anyone, has found another solution, please let us all know.

Thanks to everyone,

Dennis
