Is this a joke? MicroAntivirus?

Homepage:
http://microantivirus.com/

Thing looks like Norton Antivirus, their support mail is based on yahoo.com (WTF!?) and they don’t have any product description or any other info. Is this some kind of joke or what? The page looks more like some adware seller not an antivirus LOL ::slight_smile:

And above all… it says: “MicroAntiVirus 2004 is the world’s most trusted antivirus solution.

Oh my… oh my…

And you have to pay before you can even download it!? They have never heard for trialware i guess… Its like buying cat in the bag…
(but probably the cat is already dead and the bag is smelly ;D )

and the worst of all…it cost almost $40 and ‘won’ some awards?? :-\

I like how there is no privacy policy, no company info, and how google gives me 2 hits when I run a search about them…

That’s because it (that antivirus or whatever) is able to catch all known viruses… all three viruses in the world… ;D ;D ;D The key word is ALL, hehe…

Hey its radicalb21. I can’t believe the way it looks so much like norton and the claims there making.

From the comments already posted, I won’t bother looking there even out of curiosity.

But I can’t help but wonder if it “catches” viruses the way you catch a cold or the flu. ??? ;D

From what I have read here, it does not sound on the up and up…

It offers a “money making” affiliate. That’s not a good sign:
50% Revshare Program - Clickbank
MicroAntivirus Affiliate Program: MicroAntiVirus 2004 is the world’s most trusted antivirus solution. It protects email, instant messages, and other files by automatically removing viruses, worms, and Trojan horses and pays you up to $24 for each sale referred.

The “creidts” listed include Cnet, but I can’t find them listed on Cnet at all…???

I agree…In looking over the webpage, it does have “shades” of Norton written all over it.

I will try to find out more and post back. Maybe I will contact my friend over at Wilders Security site.

Techie

First I first read the subject of this thread, I thought you were talking about Microsoft’s New Antivirus.
That old guy in that website does look like Norton… but slightly younger. :o ;D
And notice how the icon copies the NAV icon. (The electro-wave :))
World Trusted eh? Well I never heard of it until now
I guess this will be gone soon by a lawsuit slammed on them.

about Microsoft's New Antivirus.
What is it called

RejZoR, I’ve been here… Do I have to add anything to this?
By the way, remember what our mothers said: do not lose your time with other antivirus than avast! ;D

;D ;D ;D

A WHOIS shows that the site was created on May 19,2004. And a CNET award in 2003? WOW, what a history!
24 hours support - ummm maybe I’m blind but someone give me the number?

Don’t know the name but i know it uses RAV Engine (MS bought RAV Antivirus)

Right click the award images and click Properties… You will see… :o

:o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

Also take a look at the ALT tag… it’s quite funny! ;D
Just put your mouse over the award for a sec or so.

I think this should be reported to ZoneLabs. At least thats what i think >:(

Heh… no need to report actually since it is contained in the Referrer header.
They will realize soon… Wonder if they would prosecute.

really nice i wonder how many stupid people buy this haha
