Is this a scam?

I have the following on my online banking information DRI*AVAST SofShannon, Co. for a payment of 39.99. I don’t have a subscription and before registering here didn’t even have an account. I had a free sub for Avast. Is the above a scam company using avast in their name or is it actually Avast that’s taken money from my account without emailing me or giving my consent?

I’ve had to contact the bank and cancel my card, I didn’t want to take any chances. Tried checking for an order but the thing never recognised my email address and I have no others. Sent a support ticket so here’s hoping.

Hello recently Avast charged me £49.99 for a year of subscription without my consent I did have the trial which I uninstalled from the laptop within few days of downloading. I contacted the team via Twitter but they just told me to send a ticket which I did but didn’t get a response for 23 hours so I sent them another message which they saw and ignored so there any chance I could just cancel my subscription and get my money back? Any help will be greatly appreciated since there’s no you can actually speak from in the company. Thank you very much.

Each time you submit a new ticket, you will be put back to the bottom of the stack (FiFo system).
avast is handling tickets within 1-5 business days (depending how busy it is, if there holiday’s etc).
Just have some patience.
