I hae been pleasantly surprised by Avast’s program, but I am getting “hits” from my Spy Catcher AV that points towards Avast. I am asking if this file is affliated with Avast: aswboot.exe
On Google searches, there are minor relations to Avast on this file, but nothing definate, so I wanted to ask here, to be sure, before disabling/removing it.
This did not show under Avast scans, only Spy Catcher.
Also, the only other un-identified “hit” I got, was MSPUNIN.exe, and I cannot find info on this anywhere. Could this also be related to Avast?
Lastly, why does Avast and EZ antivirus conflict with each other? I was instructed not to install EZ AV with Avast installed, I would have to remove Avast first (which is not an option…) I am not having difficulties with other AV’s running simultaneously.
Yes, the aswboot.exe is the startup scanner of Avast so dont delete it. I dont know about the other file. Dont use two Antivirus together they will conflict
EZ and avast! are seizing each others throats for your PC’s protection. It’s recommend that you only use one antivirus.
Thank you for your prompt responses. I do not have EZAV installed, I was trying to download and install it as a trial, but during the install it cancelled because Avast was present.
I do, however have Webroot Spysweeper and winpatrol along with Tenebril Spycatcher installed, but manually start each just for scans. I only leave Avast and Zone Alarm running constantly.
I’ll do more research on the MSPUNIN.exe and see what I turn up.
