is this compatible?

i know this is a bit off topic but im just asking for your opinions whether my security combo will cause any havoc or not: avast free 6.0 + panda cloud 1.5 + xyvos antivirus + comodo firewall… will these guys all conflict… if it does pls do recomend me wat to put as my combo as im running out of ideas thnx in advance

IMO, it’s definitely an overkill. 3 Antivirus running at a same time :o :o :o

You should drop off Panda Cloud and Xyvos Antivirus and my suggestion is to add an On-Demand scanner such as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM).

Never heard of Xyvos Antivirus before. I checked their website. It is still written ‘Copyright © 2010 Xyvos Technologies’ in their website although it is now 2012 so you see they are not a company that keep themselves updated. They don’t have a blog either.

You should drop that.

Panda Cloud is technically compatible with other AV’s. Well, that is what they say. But its better to use Avast with Comodo and install Malwarebytes as an on demand scanner.

If you are still tempted, you can install SuperAntiSpyware and Hitman Pro

Panda cloud FAQ

Do I need to run a different antivirus at the same time as Cloud Antivirus?

No. Cloud Antivirus provides all the protection you need from viruses, malware, etc. Also it is not recommended to run 2 different AV engines at the same time as they can conflict with each other.

hmmm thnx guys but wat program do i need for behavioral detection?

I have personally tried Panda Cloud with Avast and it has no problems.

1: PCAV can be run together with other security products. It COULD work fine but is often advised not to do so. There is always possibility of conflicts. For example could products detect viruses in each other, cause system slowdown or even crashes. You can avoid many problems if you set up exclusions so they do not scan the other security product folders, and shut of different components (less double protection but greater compatibility).

2: That might increase the possibility of problem free usage, but there are usually “supported” and “unsupported” products even on products designed to run along with “everything”.

So you see, my statement was correct. Technically, it can work side by side with other AV’s but it would be better to have it work with Comodo and install another on demand scanner.

Avast already has a ‘Behavior Shield’

But then, you can use other programs like GeSwall or ThreatFire or Mamutu if you want to or just install WinPatrol

ThreatFire is rarely developed but they have plans for future versions

Mamutu is a paid program

In the end, I think Avast Behavior Shield is enough

Keep avast free and comodo firewall, add malwarebytes and winpatrol

After uninstalling the other AV’s you mentioned you should do a thorough search through your system for remnants of ( xyvos antivirus ) and also run the removal tool from here http://singularlabs.com/uninstallers/security-software/ to clean out any leftovers of your Panda AV program ( run the tool after uninstalling Panda )

It sure would be helpful if you updated your signature with your operating system information like most of us have in our signatures.

See what I use in my signature and I recommend MBAM Pro and WinPatrol PLUS.

thnx for the reply guys may i ask dat wat is anf how does geswall actually works and wat purpose it serves?
