I am disgusted, shocked and outright angry that Avast is forcing (i really do hope is not because of you, that is forced by Google or German Government because my provider is German company) israeli propaganda Google ads on my free AV mobile that i could not even report !
I hope that this is not your doing, because i don’t want to end my very long relationship with Avast since version 4
I urge you to STOP allowing that kind of propaganda (or any with war themes) to your products by any ad provider.
I also know that no company cares if one paid user (on other devices) leave, but be sure that this is very wrong move you allow on your products and will bite you on your butt eventually.
I have two phones one using Avast and the other a competitor (comparison really) and I have never seen any ‘google ads’ as such on either one.
You don’t mention where and when you receive these ads, within Avast or when browsing (if that which browser).
I rarely open my Avast UI, as and when I do any ad/promotion is generally for Avast paid products. Avast isn’t about stopping Ads or what you may consider propaganda, it is about stopping malware.
Avast monitors your browser activity to protect and not deliver ads, sites you visit may be add supported (google itself could deliver ads in the page if that site is add supported). If you visit YouTube which happens to be owned by Google.
Well I did and I will include screenshot, be free to check if is a fake.
It was shown to me after scanning device, then on free version ads are displayed, I have NO browser on that device, removed everything not related to GPS and maps apps (like social apps, browsers, built in apps not related to GPS and so on…)
I have several devices but not enough licenses and I use this phone mostly for maps, nothing important so I put free version of Avast
As you can see on images, free version have ads all over the app, on main screen, during scans and at end of scans
Essentially what I have said in my first reply still applies.
I don’t work for Avast, but I see nothing there that would be delivered directly by Avast.
Avast Free is add supported, but Avast doesn’t choose what Ads are displayed, that I fear is down to the Google Play Store.
Generally any ads that are directly from Avast would be promoting the Avast Paid products.
Avast has its own Secure Browser (I don’t use it), so why would it advertise another browser.
I rarely run any scans within the Avast Antivirus Free program, I get reminders that I haven’t run a scan for 7 days, or do I want to see what was found. My thinking is if it found anything malicious I would get an alert.
So I generally just close these notifications.
