This year I decided to renew my Avast subscription, and since my roommates were looking for a new antivirus program after using Trend Titanium, we decided that purchasing a multi-device license would be the best route to go.
However, after a reinstall on my machine after a hardware upgrade (HDD) I have been unable to validate the license file downloaded from my account page, my machine is listed there as a device , but insertion of a licence is giving an “Access Denied” error after insertion. This license is current and was purchased just three months ago.
My roommates are not having any difficulty with the Anti-virus or license insertion so I am a bit lost. Their machines are laptops running win7 Home Premium, while I am running a desktop with win7 Professional.
If anybody has suffered from this in the past and found a fix I would be thankful to hear of it.
