issue with Avast UI

so this happens when i run an old game that makes my resolution smaller (more specifically star wars jedi knight 2: jedi outcast)

the UI itself remains the same except that this huge white box is extending from it that is the exact size of my 2 monitors resolution combined.
i dont know how to fix this beyond restarting my pc. is there another way to fix this?

like is there maybe a way to reset or restart the UI? as just pressing the cross and opening it from the task bar doesnt fix it.
