Issue with latest update

Hello

I am running Win 7 Ultimate. After being told to update avast, I did and rebooted. Now I have a problem. Suddenly my third party themes will not work and some of the other available themes I have in that menu will not work. They worked just fine before this program update. The third party themes are ones that are installed on this laptop during manufacture. This is an Alienware laptop. Both of the themes that came with this laptop now no longer work.

I did a system restore and all returned to the way it was before. After turning the service back on, Avast again wanted to update to the new program update and after doing so, I again have lost access to themes that worked before.

Can someone please help me get to where Avast played nicely before? I don’t want to do a system restore again and just ignore the Avast program update.

Try a clean install of the latest version of avast rather than upgrading and see if that makes a difference.
Get the version you require here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=89262.0 and save then go here http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility read and follow the instructions to remove avast in safe mode followed by a reboot and then install the new saved version of avast, register then reboot again.
