Issue with main password check for Password on Avast Internet Security

Despite of setting “once a week” for the frequency of the main password check, each time I reboot when I open the Password section in Avast Internet Security, Firefox or Chrome I am required to confirm the main password.

It’s rather annoying.

I’ve just updated to the last version, 11.1.2253.

Hi,

I am sorry for the confusion. For a security reasons, Avast Passwords needs to ask for a main password after every restart. We should probably clarify that in the frequency of the main password check settings.

We will update the texts in the settings to make it clear. Thank you for pointing out the problem.

I can’t remember my main password and as a result i can’t make modifications to it. Kindly advice me how get it removed or how to reset it.

You need to perform a clean installation of avast.
