During the restart after the latest windows update my graphics card became unseated (the screw had somehow fallen out) and to fix it i had to turn off the pc and i know it says “do not turn off the computer” during this time so i left it a few mins before turning my pc off. The issue is i am not sure if i left it long enough before shutting down my pc to re steat my GPU and screw the screw back in and i am not sure what if any damage this could cause.
Check the update history and see if the updates all installed properly.
If there are problems, they’ll show up as you use the programs on your computer.
everything on the update history says it was successfully installed and i havnt run into any issues as of yet so im guessing i left my pc alone long enough to finish
thanks for replying
That’s what I would assume if it was my computer.
Well, as February WU were deferred until March, the time needed to update a W10 system on March Windows Update was about the same as for a new clean install. (40 minutes). Noted the time to finish the installs after the restart was much faster, so you may have gotten lucky there, especially as you were operating blind.
The update itself didnt take that long at all only a few mins for windows to download and install them including the shutdown portion of the restart
