Ok I have free Avast. I just installed it on my tablet and on the devices page it has my tablet, then it has “robin-PC” (my desktop) which it shows as “offline”. That’s not correct as I am online and signed into my Avast account. Also, it says that my license will or has expired or is inactive. When I check within the Avast program, it doesn’t say anything about it expiring soon. Here’s a screenshot of what I am talking about:
According to the screenshot you are using a real old version of avast.
Perform a clean installation of the latest version.
Weird because when I go to the update page on Avast, it says there are no program updates available that I have the latest version. If I were outdated, would it not show this when I go to update the program?
EDIT: Ok apparently it kept all past versions of Avast I have EVER had. It had like 4 “Robin-PC” on there. I only have 1 computer. One was from 2012 
Anyway, I deleted 3 of them and the only things left are my Nexus and my PC. Both of which now say “You are protected”.
I guess I was nervous about deleting programs/accounts but once I looked at the dates I realized what was going on.

What version is shown if you right click the avast ball near the clock > about ?

That is the latest stable release.
You can remove the device from your account and add it again.
Perhaps that is solving it.
If not, it is something for avast to have a look at.
