It all disappeared

I have been trying to put my new license key in but the ball disappeared from my start up menu and when I went to start up my avast program it asked for a license key, so I tried to put it in and it said invalid license key. Now after restarting my computer the program had disappeared. I really am clueless about it all, could someone please help me? Email me at queenvampiress21@yahoo.com

First, I would remove your email address from your post so spammers do not harvest it. You can do this by going back to your original post > click the Modify button and delete your email > Save.

Questions:

  1. What product of Avast did you install? Free, Pro, AIS?
  2. What version did you install?
  3. What license is the version for?
  4. Did you reboot after installing?
  5. Where you online (on the Internet) and trying to register through the Avast GUI? This is the best way to register the product, then reboot. If you have the Free version, you do not need a key. For the Free version http://www.avast.com/registration-free-antivirus.php.

If however you do not see the Avast toolbar in the bottom of your screen, please try an Avast Repair:

  • Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > Avast Antivirus.
  • Scroll down and choose Repair function in the pop-up window.
  • Reboot.

i thinks because your trial period expired. You should do as SafeSurf said. If not you should reinstall this program, find another license key http://www.avast.com/registration-free-antivirus.php (If you use Free version)
