I take it that the other system is off-line ?
Incremental update is by far the best method if that is possible - The installation file includes the virus database, by going on-line it should check for updates and do an incremental update, download only the parts of the virus database that you don’t have. Depending on your connection this shouldn’t take long.
Off-line system
avast! VPS Update - Manual Download - For updating an off-line systems, download using a system with internet connection, save the file to a CD or USB drive and transfer it to the off-line system and run it to update the VPS signatures file.
Dial-up Incremental VPS update work around for off-line system.
The quote below works, tested on off line system requires a reboot for the WSC to also recognise the updated VPS.
You don’t actually need to copy the clnr0.dll mentioned in the quote, you do however need to disable the avast self-defence module in Program Settings, Troubleshooting section, in the off-line system before copying the file across. Don’t forget to enable the self-defence module when you are done and reboot.
