While running a boot scan I see that a file C:\Documents and setting\grandkids\mydocuments\downloads\itunessetup.exe.>Itunes.MSI error 42127{CAB} archive is corrupt. What should I do about this? Is something wrong with I Tunes?

files that can not be scanned are just that, no more no less, it does not mean they are infected, avast is just giving you a scan error report and the reason why
avast may say corrupt if it cant unpack and scan it, nothing to worry about
