I've clicked "Abort Connection" so many times I'm getting a blister...now what?

I’m running avast virus cleaner now and it’s not finding anything. The same three addresses keep popping up on the on-access scanner message. How do I stop these warnings from popping up and more importantly these viruses from trying to download? Please help!!!

The cleaner targets only a specific list of true virus and worm infections (listed on the page with the link to download the cleaner). With avast installed the cleaner is able to be called if avast detects an infection where the cleaner can clean infected files.

There is most likely to be an undetected trojan downloader on your system that is trying to connect and download malware, the web shield has blocked the download. Your firewall should be capable of blocking unauthorised outbound Internet Connections. What is your firewall ?

If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download one, install, update and run it, preferably in safe mode and report the findings here.

  1. If using winXP SUPERantispyware On-Demand only in free version. Or AVG anti-spyware (formerly Ewido) Resident scanner during trial On-Demand after trial ends. Or Spyware Terminator Resident scanner. Or a-Squared free On-Demand only with free version(if using win98/ME).
