I use a Sudoku desktop app written in Java (downloaded from https://sourceforge.net/projects/hodoku/files/) on my Windows 7 laptop. I haven’t been able to open it for the last couple of days. Whether I click the desktop icon, or try to launch it from the start menu, nothing happens. There is a little circling icon that spins, but then it goes away and the program doesn’t open. It looks like Avast did an update on 3/18, and I’m wondering if that had anything to do with it. The app worked fine for months before that. Can you tell me if the update did something to the app, and how I can get it to work again? Thanks in advance.
I downloaded hodoku.jar and it works as expected here. Avast (free, on win7/64) has no problem with it.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for your reply. It was still not working for me, but I did find another topic in the forum which seemed to deal with
a similar issue (https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=144863.0). I located the hodoku.hcfg in …username\AppData
\Local\Temp, and renamed it to hodoku.old.hcfg. After that, the app launched without a problem. Thanks to the user who
posted earlier with this solution!
