While surfing in the net, my Avast 7 internet Security said it had just blocked a java exploit.
Well, I said, everything is ok. But after that, I saw the white Java icon blinking in the tray bar.
So I wasn’t convinced at all !
In fact, launching a boot scan Avast has just found 4 different Java exploits:
What might have they done to my pc?
Why didn’t Avast manage to prevent the infections to reach my pc?
thanks
I also say that I had the same trouble with Microsoft Security Essentials last year, the difference is tha MSE didnt’ manage to clean the pc!
Non fully updated and/or unpatched java software on your comp could mean a serious security risk!
Hackers launched millions and millions of Java exploits recently (somewhat like 50 million a year).
Do a scan with Secunia Online Software Inspector at http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/online/
Why didn't Avast manage to prevent the infections to reach my pc?
No security program have 100% detection....and if your computer/programs are fully updated/patched it is a big chanse the exploits want work even if not detected
Well I’ve lauched the scan with Secunia and fixed all the trouble, in particular as I said in the last post I’ve updated to the latest Java versions both 64 and 32bit.
