Java tries to update ALL THE TIME. I’ve looked around the web and it’s all ppl with a much more in-depth understanding of Java asking/answering questions that are geared much more towards the programmer-savvy person. I only understand enough to know they are asking specific questions relating to their specific use of Java. In any case, it doesn’t help me and I really am just SICK of being greeted at the door so to speak by Java begging my attention. Please help me (and probably MANY others ) fix this annoying problem.

or remove the JRE: http://www.techspot.com/downloads/5735-javara.html
Whenever you do not absolutely need Java to run something essential for you, you’d be better off to uninstall it.

Read this about why you shouldn’t even have JRE unless you absolutely need it.
