java update incorrect

the software updater says im on an earlier version of java runtime but it is updated (according to java.com).
why?

Turn off software updater and turn it back on

doesnt work,neither does reboot

Neither is likely to have worked if the software updater’s database doesn’t have details of the latest JAVA version.

Can you post a screenshot or full text of the particular JAVA update in the software updater, e.g. Current Version and Latest Version.

sorry about the swedish

ok nevermind im stupid not to read all on java.com ,sorry :-[

Did u try to do a clean install of avast!8 uninstall it via add/remove? Then use the avast uninstall utility.

There are two JAVA streams, main versions, JAVA 6 and JAVA 7, with their various update versions, JAVA 7 update 17, etc.

If you now have JAVA 7 installed now (as your image 2 indicates), ideally you should uninstall JAVA 6 which would remove that old version from your system and obviously from the avast software updater listing.
