Javascript problem

Hi there!

I’ve got a unusual problem with my avast. No matter what i do, javascript in IE is blocked. Even when i disable all services in avast. The problem starts after i install avast and uninstall norton 2005 antivirus. Could anyone help me - because i don’t know what to do.

BTW: Sorry for my english

Hi Grzegorz,

Your english is fine, tlusty czwartek you had donuts perhaps???
My question is do you have javascript installed. Go into your configuration and have a look there.

Javascript is installed by default but JAVA may be what you are thinking about.

Check the IE (which version) Tools, Internet Options, Advanced and check the settings for scripting.

Thanks Polonus

I have eaten some donuts in Tlusty Czwartek

Before that problem occured, JS worked fine on my computer.
Also, I have Firefox 2.0 and it works ok in that browser.

My problem occurs only in IE.

Any ideas?

Check what I suggested.

Check the IE (which version) Tools, Internet Options, Advanced and check the settings for scripting.

Settings are all set to allow execute scripts. It must be something with my Avast.

avast ‘doesn’t’ block it scans content and alerts you to any infection, it doesn’t block.

avast doesn’t make any differentiation between firefox and IE it is just monitoring http traffic, it doesn’t really care what your browser is providing it is on the approved list as IE is. So if it were avast the same should be happening in ‘both’ IE and firefox in relation to javascript.

Have you looked in the Security tab, Internet, Custom Level and see if there is anything there.

Other than that I really can see what it might be, what other security programs do you have ?

I got the exact problem and it started since i installed Avast, only in IE beacuse in Firefox all runs ok
