jdbgmgr.exe

I have received an e-mail from a contact saying they have probably passed on a virus called “jdbgmgr.exe” with instructions to remove.

Avast has not picked this up, but there is a file in Windows/System with that name. I have deleted it, but now wonder whether I ought to have done so, or is this a hoax ?

Please advise before I e-mail the instructions to everyone in my address book.

It is a HOAX! It is a Part of Microsofts Java(Debugger). Zou should trz to get that file back. Mazbe from an other Computer or trz to find it via the internet. If you need more information, use google and search for jdbgmgr . You will get a lot of useful infos.

Thanks Raman

I have found more about this hoax at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;322993. It says there that most people will not need to replace the deleted file, but anyway I have downloaded a copy from the Webattack.com site.

Keep up the great work !!
