Hijackthis has to be in it’s own folder. So let’s do this again.

Download it again, but chose Save don’t chose Run[b

If you follow the instructions and prompts, hijackthis should be in it’s own folder and a short cut should be on your desktop.

If there is a shortcut now, delete before download it.

Having the icon on the desktop isn’t the same as having HJT in its own folder.

Uninstall the original installation.

Create a folder called HJT (for want of a better name) in the C:\Program Files folder and install it there. Or if you download it from this location the setup file should create a folder for it automatically. http://filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/

Open HJT, run a system scan only, check mark these lines if present
