I recently allowed avast to upgrade itself to 4.7. While installing I saw a file “jollyroger” which, of course, is the name of the pirate’s flag. I became suspicious so I joined this forum to see if I could determine if this was an imposter exe file. I have seen references to this term in the forum archives…seems to be a legit file. Does anyone know what it does? My avast is also asking permission to access internet more than usual.
Thanks Prax.
Yeah it’s a legit file. It contains the list of blacklisted license keys (i.e. pirated license keys that we have banned and that are no longer functional).
Cheers
Vlk
The Jolly roger also has links to the ‘avast!’ term often used by Pirates and the Jolly roger the Pirate flag.
Someone at Alwil obviously has a sense of humour, warked or otherwise ;D
Vlk, just a doubt, as a keygen could generate infinite number of license keys, how do you make the pirated license key list? With wildcards?
