JS:downloader-zy[Trj] on Firefox

My friend pc avast have been poping up a message say it has block js:downloader-zy[trj] for the pass few days.

I have told her to run malwarebyte and avast.

Malwarebyte have detected pup.optional.softonic.a and have quarantine it, while avast detected nothing during boot scan.

after running both malwarebyte and avast the message still pop up whenever she uses Firefox. I have told her to stop using Firefox and use chrome and avast stop poping up the message.

Is it safe to continue to surf the net with chrome, will uninstalling and reinstall firefox solve the problem?

Btw she has installed something a few ago and avast detected and quarantine mobogenie, I told her to scan with malwarebyte and malwarebyte detected 4 other thing and have too quarantine it. After which both malwarebyte and avast did not detected any more things from scan. Is this two related?

It will likely not solve the problem.
If there is malware on that system there is a good change that it still will be there after uninstalling FireFox.

Please follow the instructions and attach the log files.

I won’t be able to post the log until the next day when I meet her but just to clarified, which log to you refer to? Or do you mean all of them.

Btw is js:downloader-zy dangerous should I tell her to refrain from using the net or can she continue using chrome to surf the net.

It is a dangerous trojan. As JS:Downloader-ZY [Trj] has the ability to change the infected files and registry entries randomly, users may not be able to locate and delete the correct ones. Therefore the assistance and guidance of a qualified remover is needed. Wait for a qualified malware remover to appear here when the demanded logs have been posted.

Monitoring.

It seem she has submited a ticket to avast regarding this issue should continue the step given here or wait for avast reply?

Continue with the steps. If you system is infected, avast! ticket can do so little.
