Hi I just got this fake antispyware on my computer I immediately shutdown then safe scan on avast to find this bug.
Problems: wont let me run any program other than the fake software, I’ve taken it out of registrys which might have been bad but I couldn’t do anything otherwise. Biggest problem right now is I can’t connect to the internet through anything! Not even a game. Disabled proxy on Firefox and works fine but computer runs choppy, can’t even connect to avast update server.
Please help.
If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it and report the findings (it should product a log file).
Don’t worry about reported tracking cookies they are a minor issue and not one of security, allow SAS to deal with them though. - See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_cookie.
Also available a portable version of SAS, http://www.superantispyware.com/portablescanner.html, no installation required.
The latter, SAS Portable might well be a good first option.
