js:SaveByClick-B [Adw]

Hi, my first post here.
I am trialing the free version at the moment and trying to get rid of annoying advert popups. When I start Chrome, Avast toast pop up message alerts me to the “threat detected” called JS:SaveByClick-B [Adw], but provides no other info. ie no option to remove it, just advice it has been detected, and where it resides.
When I try the scan for it, I get nothing. Even if I scan the specific folder that was I was told about in the initial warning message, which is C:\Program Files\Google…\chrome.exe

Can anyone advise what I should do next? Am I required to pay for registration first?

try this

Download and run AdwCeaner as instructed here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/
next, Download and run Malwarebytes as instructed here and attach logs https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

when done scroll down to Farbar recovery scan Tool here https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
attach the two diagnostic logs

a log expert will then help you tomorrow…

Thanks Pondus. I’ll give that a go. Just wondering though, why Avast AV cannot deal with it.
