Hi all, new to avast and the scanner has put jucheck.exe in the virus vault. It comes from C:\Programfiles\Java\jre1.6.0…
with a size of 272024. I would be of the opinion that this is a Java updater, but I have left it in the vault for the time being.
Anyone have any advice about this?
I am using avast 4.8 free, Windows XP SP2, Firefox 3 browser.
Checking on the latest update is a good idea.
This is the version on my system however there is a beta version available

Thank you both for such excellent advice. Very much appreciated.
I checked my version of Java and it was _05, plus I had all the other updates as well.
I downloaded the current version, uninstalled all the others, and installed the current one.
Then deleted the jucheck.exe in the virus chest.
