Just an idea from a design perspective

Because popups are a pain in the backside, I don’t see this being particularly useful and we have more than enough going on with avast.

I see but let me respectfully point out that for some others, that feature may not be a pain in the backside or any side for that matter.

Besides, the popup we are talking about wouldn’t repeatedly appear. It would just appear once as the system loads.

I don’t know if you’re trying to convince Avast, others or yourself that this is something worth adding.
Prolonging this thread isn’t going to make any difference one way or the other.

Avast has already responded. Now it’s up to them to either institute the suggestion or not.

There are many others that do not like popups, you only have to browse these forums to see that.

It appears once ‘every time you boot’ that becomes very repetitive/onerous. Then you have to consider this is yet another popup to add to the many others avast loads.

There are options that actually tell you if avast ‘isn’t running’ - the Windows Security Centre - avast itself, Exclamation point or No-entry sign over the avast tray icon. If you don’t see these it would be reasonable to assume avast is running without requiring any other confirmation.

As has been said avast have responded, we will have to wait to see if they implement it.

I am not trying to convince anyone. I just wanted to make a suggestion and would appreciate if the idea is implemented.

If someone says that my idea can be an irritant or a pain in the backside, it is only fair to ask why. Don’t you think so?

Did I say that people like popups? I just responded to your “not so kind” statement by saying that there may be others who would welcome that feature

I understand there are ways to identify if Avast is running or not but that’s not the point. It’s just from a design perspective that I would like this

Finally, I know that the product manager has responded to this and I respect that. I will wait just like you and the others

The response wasn’t “not so kind” but the unvarnished truth of my feelings about popups and what I have seen in the forums over many years. People seeking information on how to remove popups rather than how to add more.

I am sure there are milder ways to express what you think is the “unvarnished truth” and besides, the popups you are referring to are different
