The advert clearly stated buy now and get one year free… the licensed when checked states 2011… now that ain’t exactly 2 years.
Have I been conned?

No, I don’t believe that you have, a hiccup in the on-line processing is the more likely answer (assuming you purchased via the avast site).
Contact sales (at) avast (dot) com and I’m sure it can be resolved.
Hi, thanks DavidR for your prompt response.
Yep, just done as you advised and waiting their response. Certainly did say buy one for the price of two getting one year free.
What annoys me is I clicked the link underneath to proceed there were no reference numbers to be given, almost had me thinking it was a bogus site, and yes it was certainly an Avast site.
I still have a license going for Avira that runs out next year and to think I turned to Avast for being better… nuff said.

You’re welcome.
I know there is an offer on, but I’m just an avast user like yourself. I trust that you gave that and any other relevant info in your email to sales.
New license update came through this morning and got two for the price of one… all sorted thanks Avast.
I can now ditch Avira, my computer is running zippier than the cloned drive’s with Avira version 9 & 10 on… all the same drives and all cloned from a fresh install of XP pro, saves delving around for CDs or what have you
Thanks everyone, Dave.
No problem, glad I could help.
A belated welcome to the forums.
