Just downloaded a virus and delete it right away after finish scanning. Safe?

Hello! today i just downloaded a game with .Iso format and i have this habit to always scan the files i downloaded before opening it

so after it finishes downloading i scan it with Avast! and in the .Iso file it have 1 threat which is a 32-Malwaregen in the “.exe” file so i tried to Delete it through Avast options but instead i got a notification saying that “the command is not available in the current …” i forgot what it says but it’s something like that is that because it is in an .Iso format?

so i decided to manually delete the .Iso file and emptying the recycle bin too using CC Cleaner.

my question is: is my computer safe right now from that suspected virus after i delete it thoroughly? note that i haven’t opened it yet because i scan it right away after i finish downloading it and delete it right away too after it being scanned with avast.

i just have a very bad experience with virus and i don’t want it to ever happen again, currently i’m running a full scan on my computer and so far it still has 0 threat on 26% (i have about 1.5TB of HDD size)

thank you .

Yes.

thank you very much, just 1 simple word and it makes all my worries go away.

do you mind if i ask another question?
say if i have an application which is infected by a virus like that .Iso file i mentioned in the post above but i have never opened that application, does the virus never take any kind of action until somebody opens or runs it?

thank you once again.

just downloading a infected file and not running it will not infect you…i do this evry day

infected websites may infect you directly

suspicious file(s) can be tested here www.virustotal.com / www.metascan-online.com
if tested before click rescan for a fresh result

thank you very much for the information

You’re welcome.
