Found some trojans and deleted them, that was good.
But am wondering, why it doesn’t scan for adware and spyware, I thought that it was suppose to have that function

Avast is an anti-virus solution, adware and spyware are different parts of various “malware” that can be loaded onto your system. Some without your input and some with.
