So i was just wondering if Avast didnt exist as an Antivirus what would you use in its place.
It can be free or paid products doesnt matter to me, i just want to know whats second or third choices you have out there
Ill start by saying Microsoft Security Essentials and Probably Comodo for the free versions.
Eset Av for paid, or maybe Trendmicros product.
Hello
interesting topic.
Thanks to God Avast exists
However I’d go for Microsoft Security Essential or Panda Cloud free, whilst for Paid antivirus I’d go for ESET NOD 32 or Avira Premium
Thank you for your reply
Perhaps MSE is inconsistent (even though I do not think so), but Panda Cloud is not purely Cloud based as it works without internet connection, also;). You will get a sort of “earlier warning score”, nevertheless is works with no internet connection
leoflex, panda may work without internet connection but, protection is severely compromised with no internet on any strictly cloud av,as stated by many(including testing labs),and panda publicly state that their av is purely cloud and doesnt slow down your system.
as for mse,its enough to just review the data(reviews,comparisons,tests,etc.).
i read those articles, and although they’re nearly 2 years old, they were pretty informative and now i have mixed feelings about panda cloud,it might be a worthy opponent after all.
Why do you have to be so serious, this is just a topic comparing avs that would match protection with avast if it wasn’t here, which i know isn’t the case, but once again its because im Curious what other would have used in its place.
Well when you consider you are on the official avast support forum I think it is taking the mickey. As you are effectively promoting other AVs when it is avast paying for this forum.
What else would it be, when Castayr starts a topic theorising on the demise of avast, isn’t alternative AVs going to get into the discussion, which is inadvertent promotion.
When you consider the various search engines monitor forums such as these, which which would give a higher weight to something in a popular site. A topic can appear here and you will find references to it in google searches in a very short time.
That’s the whole point, this is the official avast support forum and they are paying for it, so it is a slap in the face when doing this as it is inadvertently promoting other AVs.
If this isn’t talking of the demise “if Avast didnt exist” I don’t know what is.
