Just purchased avast 4 pro and it won't update

I just purchased Avast 4 pro and entered my license key. I received a message that it was successful. I then went and tried to update the database. That was unsccessful, the license key is invaild. Not a good way to start off. What can or should I do?

Yes, I purchased it on share it and both the time and date are correct.

I have the same problem.

running Vista and Office 2007.

When it was upgrading it also stuffed both versions of Outlook on my PC (2003 and 2007). I had to do a restore and re-enter the registration key.

You should get people to shut down Outlook before upgrading.

Can you please post a screenshot of avast! About box, with “Registration key” section expanded (visible)? The displayed key is not complete there, so you don’t have to worry about it.

Ok I am confused. I just tried an update and it worked. Nothing was changed from the previous times I tried…it just worked. ???

To create a screenshot, open/active the target window and press Altr+PrintScren to copy the image into clipboard. Then, open MS Paint (for example), Press Ctrl+V to paste the content of the clipboard into the program and then use File/Save as… to save the file (a good choice would be PNG format, JPG and GIF are also possible).
