Kaspersky conflict?

My kaspersky trial ran out so i decided to reinstall avast (i like it better anyways.) after compleatly uninstalling kaspersky and reinstalling avast, I get the error message telling me avast on access scanner cannot start due to kaspersky on access scanner running. This is not true because i fully uninstalled, looked through my regestry and deleated all enteries concerning kaspersky, there are no running processes or any startup items concerning kaspersky that i can recognize.

I guess i need to know either what is remaining that makes avast think kaspersky is still there, or a way to override avast detecting this conflict.

Thanks for help.

Hi Smorg,

This conflict is a known problem, try searching Kaspersky in this forum there are several other posts on this subject. Hopefully one of them will answer your problem!

Cheers,

Thorny

Yeah… apperently this is a problem for everyone thats used kaspersky. It seems the uninstaller misses some driver dlls that it leaves in the windows/system32 folder. even a scan of the regestry and harddrive with the keyword ‘kaspersky’ didn’t find the files and the only reason i could find them was because someone else found them. thanks for the help though  this should really be faq’d…

Run this utility to remove all traces of Kaspersky from the registry:
