It was found during boot scan, and it keeps finding the same virus, but in a different place. Its found in File C:/Documents and settings/User/Application Data/Sun/Java/Deployment/cache/javapi/v1.0/jar/ivmimpro.jar-9ec854f-48ac1d6d.zipl>vmain.class
The only thing that is different from the rest of the files, is ivmimpro.jar-9ec854f-48ac1d6d is different on each one.
Exploit:Java/Gimsh.A is the detection for a malicious Java applet that exploits the vulnerability in Sun Java RunTime Environment discussed in CVE-2007-0243. Once executed with a vulnerable version of the Java Runtime environment, this malware attempts to download and execute possibly malicious files from a Web site. Upgrading to the latest Java Runtime Environment prevents the exploit from executing. http://65.55.21.250/security/portal/Threat/Encyclopedia/Entry.aspx?Name=Exploit:Java/Gimsh.A
If you are getting JAVA exploits then the likelihood is that you are running an old version of JAVA, which you should uninstall and get the latest version.
I would also suggest a visit to this site, which scans your system for out of date programs that have patches to close vulnerabilities, http://secunia.com/software_inspector/.
There is another option and that is to uninstall JAVA and not replace it, it isn’t essential. So if you don’t have a requirement, sites or applications that you visit/use require JAVA (not to be confused with javascript), then don’t install it.
I got along fine without it for many, many years and there are not to many occasions where I actually use it on a web site.
