Key should stay registered, not crumble like my 3-year-old holding a cookie...

:-\

I know I’ve got some malware inside some windows files I’m scanning, and my machine gives me a juxtaposition-type error on my monitor that makes it look like there’s physical damage. I know there’s not, but my point is that I have to re-enter the key every time it crashes my X11. I am using gksu to run Avast! to open locked files that a regular user can’t access, but that shouldn’t matter. The key should be saved as soon as it’s entered. I would be much more inclined to purchase Avast! for Linux workstations if this wasn’t such an issue. It’s just :frowning: ! It’s frustrating !

P.S.

It’s not a good idea to send my forum password (the one I registered with, not a password rescue) to me as plain text either. :-\

The Linux / Unix / Mac forum is here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=5.0

What version of avast are you using? some more information about your system would be helpful also 32/64 bit?
Can you run a scan with malwarebyte’s as this would more that likely clear up your infection.
Why is it not a good idea to send your password as text, no one has problem with it so far, would you like it posted in the mail

I would encourage you to then register and use an encrypted email if you are concerned with privacy. Thank you.
