I have a question and problem I installed avast free and got a evalution for internet security so i tought well lets use that to see how it works. After the days are gone i choose to go for the free version so it uninstalled the other parts. After the reboot it seems to have damage all my keyboard drivers so they dont work anymore. How can i solve this? I did a system restore so it all fine again but i cant use the free version i think if i even uninstall it it will be messed up. Its been the 2nd time now.
I use windows 7 home premium.
Avast version 2014.9.0.2008
Seems to have something to do with Avast’s keylogger detection/protection… I’ve had this happen twice as well when reinstalling AIS. My solution was booting into safe-mode and using avastclear.exe, after that I rebooted normally and ran the installer again. Somehow the normal installer messes things up when you reinstall the ‘normal’ way. Add another bug to the long list of Avast 2014 flaws >:( .
Run the avast clean tool which will reboot you into safe mode, run for all versions of avast ever installed the reboot back to normal mode and install the avast copy downloaded earlier.
You should get a better result using the cleaning tool from safe mode.
