Simple user decided to install avast itself in March …
Today, March 11, 2016 he stopped working the keyboard and mouse!

After properly remove your miserable program
ceased to run MS Office and firefox products

No clue on what calender you are using, but it is may and not march :wink:

Just a guess since you didn’t provided details…
Any installed av was not removed before installing avast.

Removing avast will not cripple ms-office nor Firefox.

Looking at the very little information you gave, I say there was no reason at all to install windows again.
Next to that. a simple user is not even capable of doing so properly.
