keyboards?

is it possible for a virus too burn your key boards out or is it it your motherboard, ive lost two today but only when igo on a certain chat room ?

Not really. I’d rather look for different causes (hardware problems, faulty drivers, …)

Hi stanclayton,

Did you ever turn your keyboard topsy turvy and tap it, what did you find? A lot of dust. Did you ever open the housing of your computer and what did you see? Again a lot of dust. What do you think that ruins computers if there is too much of it. Exactly dust.
Together with the things Igor mentions here, and the fluctiutions in the mains. These are the main causes of burnt down hardware.
A virus can eat your data or corrupt your data so as to the effect your computer do not function anymore, but viruses as far as I am aware do not eat hardware.

To elaborate a little further, the dust is actually only the underlying cause. Dust causes excessive heat buildup and it's the heat that's actually the killer which is also why proper ventilation is a must. Make sure your fan(s) is/are working properly and that the vent's of the computer case aren't being blocked.

My tower’s standing almost by the open window, I hope it won’t catch a cold… ;D
