Is it safe to use this with Avast?
Never install multiple antivirus as this will give a slower machine, mysterious windows errors and false positive detections
you did say lesson learned last time :

Another good feature about it is compatibility with other security software. It will work alongside other antiviruses without any problems. It’s very light so there should be no problems.
There is one exception however…
Kingsoft Antivirus 2012 is NOT compatible with ANY product that is using VIPRE scan engine (GFI, Ad-aware, UnThreat and others).
Make sure to check this on their forums in the future if they have resolved this issue.

Just remember where I found this and it was in ReJZoR’s Little Secrets.
Best companion to avast!(or any other AV for that matter) is IMHO Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

Thank all of you for you recommendations but I don’t really like Malwarebytes so I downloaded Spyware Terminator 2012. Didn’t activate/enable the ClamV virus protection though.
I don't really like Malwarebytesand what is it you dislike?
Didn't activate/enable the ClamV virus protection though.if so you must be using an old version since they now use F-PROT antivirus engine. ;)
It was the newest version but I just now uninstalled it. Thought it wasn’t safe to have any other antivirus programs installed along with Avast.
Thought it wasn't safe to have any other antivirus programs installed along with Avast.did i say it was safe?
using Malwarebytes is safe…it is also the best tool you find
I just download and installed Malwarebytes, ran a scan and no malware was found.

" Malware, short for malicious software, is software used or created to disrupt computer operation, gather sensitive information, or gain access to private computer systems. It can appear in the form of code, scripts, active content, and other software.[1] ‘Malware’ is a general term used to refer to a variety of forms of hostile or intrusive software.[2]
Malware includes computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, spyware, adware, and other malicious programs. In law, malware is sometimes known as a computer contaminant, as in the legal codes of several U.S. states.[3][4] Malware is not the same as defective software, which is software that has a legitimate purpose but contains harmful bugs that were not noticed before release. However, some malware is disguised as genuine software, and may come from an official company website. An example of this is software used for harmless purposes that is packed with additional tracking software that gathers marketing statistics.
Malware has caused the rise in use of protective software types such as anti virus, anti-malware, and firewalls. Each of these are commonly used by personal users and corporate networks in order to stop the unauthorized access by other computer users, as well as the automated spread of malicious scripts and software."
