KNOWN FP: Yahoo.com and Avast?

I cannot connect to yahoo.com on two of my three computers. Whenever I try to connect I receive an Avast On-access scanner message stating a virus has been found at yahoo.com, specifically it states that yahoo.com/\unpXXXXXXXXXXX contains sample of ‘VBS: Malware-gen’! XXXXXXXX varies each time I try to connect. One time it will be 236249758 and another time it will be 010154558 and another time it will be yet something else.

The two computers that cannot access yahoo have avast installed. The one computer that can access yahoo does not have avast installed (it uses Symantec).

Does anyone know what is going on?

Thanks.

John

Also see this topic, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=36515.0, so something is going on, what is the question.

As you can see your link has been removed by one of the moderators (same as in the other topic), posting active links to suspect sites. Normally if you use hXXp instead of http that breaks the link so it isn’t active and avoids accidental exposure.

Hopefully it will be being investigated since it has come to the attention of one of the Alwil team.

Already solved. Update your virus database.
