Laptop Extremely Slow-getting "resolving host", "waiting for cache", etc...

My laptop is extremely slow. When browsing forums or viewing email, I am constantly getting messages like:
Resolving host …
Waiting for cache…
Establishing secure connection…
Waiting for {whatever url I’m trying to access}

Sometimes pages just constantly spin. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Vickie

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

Thank you. Yes after MBAM removed the crap, it is running a little better. However, I am still getting “resolving host” and “waiting on” messages when reading some forums. Attached is the fixlog.txt file.

AdwCleaner by Xplode

Download AdwCleaner from here or from here. Save the file to the desktop.

NOTE: If you are using IE 8 or above you may get a warning that stops the program from downloading. Just click on the warning and allow the download to complete.

Close all open windows and browsers.

  • Vista/7/8 users: Right click the AdwCleaner icon on the desktop, click Run as administrator and accept the UAC prompt to run AdwCleaner.
You will see the following console:

- After the Scan has finished the window may or may not show what it found and above, in the progress bar, you will see: Waiting for action. Please uncheck elements you don't want to remove.
- NOTE: Please click on Options menu and select (checkmark) the follow:
- Delete "Tracing" keys
- Reset Winsock settings

Attached is the requested file. Thank you…

How is your system running now?

Thank you; it’s running better. But, do you know why I’m still receiving “resolving host”, “waiting for …” messages? The messages are not appearing for a very long time like they were before; but, I’m still seeing them and there is a little delay.

The lags could be your DNS server setting. From your logs, it seems you are using your router as your DNS server; this means that your browser would query your router which may have to query your ISP’s main DNS server to find the address you need. You can set your PC’s network adapter to use whatever DNS server you want.

This article ( http://www.serverwatch.com/server-tutorials/two-tools-for-testing-dns-server-speeds.html ) describes two free tools that can help you find and test for better DNS servers in your area.
