My laptop has recently started running sluggish and sometimes even freezing when I am using my internet explorer 11. I have Windows 7 Home Edition.
When it freezes, I get a pop-up saying, “Windows Explorer has stopped working” or sometimes I get a message at bottom of screen, “The webpage is not responding” or
I will get a message asking me if I want to “Stop Script.”
I ran Search & Destroy & Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to which I am attaching their logs.
Not so much…
Is there any way to stop script from running? When laptop sticks, I get the sign to “Stop Script”, which I click the button, but even then it takes a bit .
Well I reset, and everything looks good so far. No freezing or sluggishness.
I noticed in your picture, you had a check mark by the “Accelerated Graphics.”
It’s not checked on my options. Should it be?
Uh oh, seems my computer is still freezing, and I’m still getting “Stop Script” & “The webpage is not responding” messages.
NOT FREEZING AS MUCH…but still freezing.
Download Windows All In One Repair from Tweaking.com to your desktop
Install the programme
Reboot to safe mode with networking
Run Windows All In One
Select Step 2
Select open Pre-repairs scan then click scan
Let that complete
Save the results to a text file on your desktop
When I reboot the laptop, I keep pressing F8 to get to the black screen that “usually” gives you choice of SAFE MODE - but when I do that, and the black screen appears, the only 2 choices given me are:
Windows 7
System Restore
My apologies for my delayed reply. Something was wrong with my At&T internet service, and I couldn’t connect to the internet for 4 days. I’m back now
Anyways, I downloaded Firefox and was in the process of install, when it froze up when trying to move bookmarks, cookies, etc. (because I put firefox as my default browser, and it was moving info from internet explorer to firefox). It was the IMPORT WIZARD that froze. The top of the little window said, Import Wizard not Responding.
I tried to X it out, but it wouldn’t do anything. So I tried to restart my computer. It got stuck on “Shutting Off”. It was taking up to about 15 minutes; so I finally removed the battery from my laptop and the electrical cord. I replaced them and clicked the StartUp button, and my laptop started up.
Since Firefox froze as well; to me it sounds like something isn’t working right in my computer (laptop) - but only you would know that…not me
