How can I setup scheduled scans on the laptops, so that if they are disconnected from the network, they will still run an on-demand scan with out being directly told to do so by the AMS?
In essence, how can I store the relative laptop’s scan schedule on the laptop itself, while still enabling the schedule to be updated/overwritten by the AMS when it reconnects?
Unfortunately, this is not currently possible using the ADNM console. That is, there’s no concept of “offline schedules” right now (i.e. all scheduling is performed on the server).
That said, you can still come close to the functionality you want by using the local avast Enhanced UI and scheduling the scans locally. True, this is practical only if we’re talking about a very small number of machines (needs to be done on each machine separately) but will do the trick.
Nuts.
That’s a shame.
Would there be any plans to implement this feature in the future?
Since you have the feature of Clients being able to update without being connected to the AMS, it would make sense that the scanning schedule remains in place locally as well.
We have Users who are often away for a week, often two, before reconnecting their laptop to the network.
On that note, during busy times, it can be over 3 weeks before the laptop is reconnected (only the case on a selected few). I need to supply a copy of the license file to those laptops on those occasions. Do I need to put the license file anywhere in particular? Will Avast still be able to access the license if I put it in an encrypted folder?
