Hi,
Did anyone notice how many signatures were in the last VPS?
Hi,
Did anyone notice how many signatures were in the last VPS?
Do you know?
Expect some false positives ;D
Yes I do know. ;D
Although there is a lot, they are mostly new variants of about 4-5 main viruses, sdbot, rbot, agent, banker, etc…
However, there doesn’t seem to be much activity considering it was released a day ago.
Still i count dozen(s) of trojans/worms/malware not being added , yet i reported it weeks-months ago (some were more than just evil active) …
so there is still LOT of work/things to improve on detection front …
so far Kaspersky Labs is only capable handle solve any suspicious file within less than 1-7 days depends on type …
Yes I agree but give Alwil time. I have yet to be infected by a real virus.
classic viruses are last to fear ,
main problem is that it takes way too long to add trojans / viruses and really agressive malware into avast database …
no idea on what Alwil bases the danger factor but if i find it between friends, customers or partners and it’s active
(ie spamming, downloading new trojans or so) then i think it’s 100% dangerous …
and in that case i fully understand firms why they tends to NOT buy Avast! products for server protect (they choose KAV or NOD instead) …
and it’s very hard to convice them to buy avast! for some workstations in the end …
Also I noticed that there is some change in the naming method - I mean before there were a lots of signatures like “Win32:Trojano XXXX” and lately almost all of the signatures have “names”, but ofcourse this is only my guess :
And one more thing - time ago if I remember right Vlk said that they are working on new submition system, any info about that : Alwil? :
Vlk, where are the detection improvements you’ve promissed us? :
