Please, if you use ANY of the localizations (DE, CS, FI, FR, PT, RU, BG…), check whether the texts are sane (“About Avast” menu item).

Stoopid question: I need to uninstall first, right, the package won’t update the old version?

hallo,
under normal circumstances, the package will overwrite old files at their rightful places, and thus, will 1:1 replace the older version completely.
so, there’s no need for uninstalling… but you can do it, if you want to… :).

Just uninstalled and reinstalled on one computer: I’ll try the other method on another- thanks.

Updates still take an minor ice age. Are incremental updates coming?

1.4.0 works fine on my debian but…

I don’t really see a difference with 1.3.0 version !!

Same result here on two computer- works just as before.

hallo, there’s a difference in the underlying engine (newer one, more detections).
