Latest Avast Program Update Affecting PC Shutdown

Recently, I updated my Avast IS to 7.0.1473 on my computer and since then it gets stuck on the shutting down screen. At first, I thought it wasn’t Avast and then I proceeded in updating my other laptop, suprisingly, now both of them fail to shut down without me force shutting it down. I reverted back to 7.0.1466 and I didn’t have the issue. Is this a problem with the latest Avast Program update?

Note: I have not installed the P2P shield and mail shield since I do not use them.

Same problem here…I uninstalled MBAM=Pro and it cleared. Haven’t re-installed yet but that fixed the problem. I haven’t had to do that on any other updates.

You may not use those 2 but malware certainly can and does. Malware can send out/in with P2P and can include their own email programs. It is safer to have those 2 running. They will not use enough resources for you to even notice.

Is there any other way to fix the issue other than uninstalling Malwarebytes Pro. I have already set up mutual exclusions between both a while back and this issue as I said only happened with 7.0.1473.

The exclusions are already set and this issue is happening.

No issues here with MBAM Pro and avast, have you tried disabling MBAM just to test if that is your problem.

As for the MBAM exclusions, are you using the old or newer one’s as they were updated a while ago.

I’m using the old malwarebytes exclusions and as soon as I disable it, the shutdown process works fine. What do you mean by changed exclusions?

I would not suggest running MBAM Pro with avast…It has resulted in lot of problems even after setting exclusions…right now with Avast and online armour i am protected and satisfied ;D

Rubbish, where’s your proof of this ???

Look at the link Asyn posted, then go to section K

The one that Asyn mentioned are the ones I indeed have.

There the new one’s then, try adding the one’s in the pic to the Behaviour shield and see if that changes anything.

Have you also added the avast program folder to the trusted list in MBAM ?

I’ve just set those exclusions and it shut down correctly this time. I’ll try a few more reboots later on and let you know.

No worries, that was more than likely your problem though, i include those exclusions even in my free avast but you should definitely have them as your running AIS.

Yes, I have added the Avast folder to Malwarebytes. It’s working fine now as the way it looks, thanks.

Your welcome

Craig, do you have a link to the new MBAM exclusions…!? Thanks.

There all in the link you supplied earlyer http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=10138&p=417798&#entry417798 but i add the two extra exe files that are now included in the new MBAM to the BhS exclusions, iv found with my own testing that everything just runs smoother and more responsive if all five of those MBAM exe’s are added.
